OverviewSchedule: 7A-7PRegistered Nurse delivers nursing care for patients in within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards.The RN is responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members. Collects and documents assessment data. Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard. Implements POC including medical order and interdisciplinary approach. Evaluates the progress of patient toward attainment of desired outcomes. Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning. Administers medication per standard including drug information to patients/families. Acts as a resource/supports others. Delivers patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality. Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job description and individual level of education and training. These individual Float Divisions are units with no physical boundaries, but still maintain the integrity of each specialized team. The Medical/Surgical FD nurses have the opportunity to work on all of the medical and surgical areas. The ICU FD nurses have the opportunity to work in all of the ICU areas including intermediate care, ED, PACU. The Maternal Infant FD nurses have the opportunity to work in Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, the Ante-partum and Post-partum units.The Float Division nurses' use all of their nursing assessment and clinical skills to meet new patients, families and staff on a daily basis. To prepare these Float Division nurses to work in these specialty areas, a variety of courses are offered including Cardiac Dysrthymia, Chemotherapy and any of the Critical Care courses. Clinical orientation focuses on the nurse's needs and strengths as they are partnered with a preceptor to maximize their orientation experience. All Float Division nurses receive a quarterly bonus of 25% for floating to the different areas. The Float pool team is a dynamic group of staff who meet the challenge and flexibility of a new assignment every day.QualificationsRequired: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with Associates Degree, Nursing Diploma, Bachelors in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing. Valid RN License, 3 years of Registered Nursing experience in Medical/Surgical, excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background [and registry (if applicable)] check [and drug screen (if safety sensitive position)].
