Chief Executive, BAFTA New York

Based: New York City

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts New York is the only Anglo-American professional organization in the city promoting and rewarding excellence in the art forms of the moving image that today encompass film, television and video games. Following the decision of the current CEO to step down, BAFTA New York now seeks a new person to lead the organization over its next phase of growth, to grow its relevance and strong relationship with the film, television and games industries and to enable it to contribute fully to BAFTA’s international strategy.

The new CEO will be a visionary leader for BAFTA New York. Working closely with the Chair of BAFTA New York, and the Board, he or she will be the organization’s primary contact with the New York entertainment community and BAFTA in London and LA. A key role is to represent the values of BAFTA in New York, helping support and develop excellence in our industries.

The new CEO will oversee all key industry and corporate relationships and be responsible for the P&L of the organization as well as developing a clear plan for growth and economic stability over the next three years. He or she will also work closely with the executive team of BAFTA in the UK in order to maximise the impact of BAFTA New York’s education and new talent initiatives so that they contribute fully to BAFTA’s international strategy of promoting British talent and culture.

In order to succeed in this position, the successful candidate will be a dynamic leader, a passionate and persuasive spokesperson, but also a hands-on manager and team builder. You will have had significant and proven senior level experience, perhaps in the not-for-profit sector but certainly from within the film, television or games industries, and demonstrate strong ability as a strategic planner and deal-maker. Excellent communication and people skills will be essential.
