This is a rare opportunity to be part of the fast moving world of British Forces Broadcasting.  We’re looking for a dynamic and creative web and social media leader, skilled at reviewing, redefining and evolving online strategies in a broadcast environment.

Our on-line presence encompasses a number of business areas: 24-hour BFBS Radio; multi-channel Forces TV; British Forces News, CSE live entertainment; retail shops; a chain of cinemas and the BDFL training library, including websites, streaming media and social networks.

We are looking for someone to bring fresh ideas about the development and content to our on-line platforms, lead a small team of web developers, develop engaging social media and create and execute a clearly defined on-line strategy in order to enhance and complement our broadcast platforms. 

You must have a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of media-rich websites, social networking, viral marketing and supporting analytics and possess proven editorial experience and a bright and clear editorial writing style.  Knowledge of copyright law & related legal issues is essential as is knowledge of Drupal and Symfony based projects.  You will also be familiar with delivering streamed audio and video services (IPTV and VOD).

The successful candidate will probably be educated to degree level or equivalent, have management experience and sound knowledge of future technologies.   You’ll also have a demonstrable track-record in editorial decision-making.

Your ability to collaborate, create strategy and write supporting governance will be key as will your skill in prioritising and managing internal and external stakeholders accordingly.

In addition the successful candidate will need to obtain MoD security clearances and be based in easy reach of our offices in South Buckinghamshire.  Some UK and overseas travel may be required.
