The BFI is the lead organisation for film in the UK. We are a Government arm’s length body and distributor of Lottery funds for film.
We are looking for a Press Manager, BFI London Film Festival (6 month fixed term contract) for an exciting role working across the BFI’s London Film Festival activities. The role will work with the Head of Press and PR to devise and deliver the Festival’s PR Strategy. It will take responsibility for coordinating the smooth operation of BFI London Film Festival press and PR campaign activity across internal BFI departments, with the LFF’s PR agency/ies, and third parties including sponsors and other external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strategic and creative thinking with the ability to communicate complex projects to the widest audiences. Knowledge of the UK film sector and an awareness of, and up-to-date approach to diversity and inclusivity in the industry is important, as is understanding of some of the complexities of public funding. Demonstrable experience of handling crisis communications is also required.
The role involves close liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, particularly funded partners and film industry professionals, and an ability to spot and tell complex stories in simple and accessible ways.
