This new fixed term role will support the development and production of feature films by assisting the New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) to make the best investment decisions aligned to its long-term goal of a successful NZ screen industry.

For mid to high level feature films in particular, the role involves assessing projects for creative, finance and market potential, and advising NZFC on appropriate budget levels, potential market attachments and distribution pathways to enhance the pipeline of projects moving forward into production.
You will also be working with the team to ensure NZFC is applying best practice models to support industry practitioners throughout the lifecycle of feature film, development and production so prior experience in dealing with producers and creatives across slates is desirable.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years’ experience in a feature film related role and with full understanding of the feature film processes and the market environment. You will have international market and finance knowledge, as well as creative experience including script reading. You will be up to date with feature film market trends, and you will enjoy translating those areas of focus for NZFC and others.
As you will be required to liaise with screen practitioners and senior team members at NZFC, you need to be great at building and maintaining relationships and will have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
