Course Leader – BA(Hons) Film Production
We are looking to appoint an inspirational Course Leader to establish an exciting new film degree commencing in September 2018 within an institution with award winning facilities.
Leeds College of Art has played a central role in providing specialist education in art, design and the crafts for 170 years and has developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students.
The course will be housed in bespoke specialist film making facilities at our Blenheim Walk Campus. Working with the Programme Director for Lens Based Practices the Course Leader will be responsible for the vision, development and writing of the course specification and following validation for the planning, delivery and organisation of the course. They will be responsible for the quality and enhancement of the learning experiences within specific modules across the course and will work with the course team to support the general student experience. Applicants must be able to demonstrate independence and competence in leading and managing the course and have ability to teach at all levels within the overall programme.
The successful candidate will need to be educated to a minimum of Masters level, have significant knowledge in an aspect/s of film production and expertise in preparing film makers for careers in a range of roles within the film/ creative industries. You should be able to demonstrate a level of experience in curriculum development and management. You will also be expected to undertake relevant research on an ongoing basis.
