Overview 

Lionsgate is recruiting for the newly created role of International TV Sales Manager for our London office (centrally based). The International TV Sales Manager’s core responsibility will be to maximise revenues from the sales & distribution of TV series and film product. They will plan and execute program sales activities with direct sales responsibilities across a range of designated territories. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills, an experienced negotiator with a passion for TV and film content and will need to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the current market and how to drive sales. The candidate will have the ability to source significant levels of new business and develop strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key sales person for Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Portugal and/or other territories as assigned by line manager
  • Sourcing, pitching, negotiating and seeing through to closure deals for Lionsgate’s catalogue (library and new titles) and maximising revenue potential within the designated territories
  • Ensure that all existing relationships with broadcasters and new media platforms (as relevant), are maintained whilst sourcing and developing new business relationships to expand our business and ensure maximum exposure for all programming
  • Fully interrogate the library to develop new packages and work with Non-Scripted division to maximise potential of all catalogue
  • Develop annual sales budgets with senior management and work alongside Finance to track sales and provide forecasts to achieve quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Raise deal memos, seek deal approval, obtain collision checks and work with Legal to finalise contracts
  • Liaise closely with Operations to ensure materials delivered in timely fashion; and with Finance to ensure client payments are up to date
  • Interfacing with Digital and Home Entertainment teams to plan timing of EST, TVOD and DVD release dates for TV Series for the territories
  • Preparing availability lists and presentations for sales packages
  • Tracking and issuing NOA’s (notice of availability) for the territories
  • Updating and maintaining deal tracking schedule(s) and programme feedback forms
  • Liaising regarding dubbed or local language versions of series to exploit content within territory remit as much as possible
  • Organise travel and attendance at TV Markets (eg MIPTV, MIPCOM) and designated sales territories on a regular basis in order to develop and build relationships with new and existing clients
  • As required, review and assess international potential of new program acquisitions by providing feedback and sales projections.
  • Provide regular reporting on deal negotiations, deals closed, target clients and market developments
  • Ensure Lionsgate is achieving the best commercial terms for its programming
  • Develop strategies to grow business, including processes and structures where relevant or possible
  • Work closely with peers, sales support, Business Affairs, Finance, Operations and Marketing in all areas of deal follow up
  • Monitor the marketplace for changes and trends that affect sales activities
  • Ad hoc projects, including analysis, tracking performance of series and films, market research and presentations
  • Provide creative and marketing input where appropriate

Skills & Experience Required:

  •  A proven ability to close deals and achieve targets
  •  Ability to handle high volume of sales
  •  Working knowledge of the television and digital business in the designated territories
  •  The confidence and passion to present to large and small audiences
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •  Demonstrable self-starter experience
  •  High degree of organization and problem-solving skills
  •  Ability to manage a high volume of work with the highest attention to detail and accuracy
  •  Evidence of working collaboratively with other team members in a dynamic environment and managing different time zones
  •  Highly experienced Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word)
  •  Additional language desirable, but not essential
  •  Ability to demonstrate good international network of clients and contacts in their region
  •  Specific market knowledge or research of key players in the territories

  •  Must be a confident individual who is a quick learner and self-starter
  •  Must demonstrate calmness and composure under pressure
  •  Very strong planning, organizational, time management skills required; must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  •  Excellent ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and management required
  •  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  •  Must quickly learn Lionsgate’s catalogue and stay abreast of projects in development/production
