Challenging Producer/Writer opportunity - Temporary (4 to 5 months)
KMF (Khmer Mekong Films – established in 2006) is commissioned by Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment to produce a series of 13 X 45-minute TV magazine programmes. The objective is to encourage young people to appreciate, enhance and sustain their local and national environments. The tone of the show will be humorous, colourful and energetic, wrapped round important messages about individual and community responsibilities towards Cambodians’ lives and the way they live.
The successful candidate will work to an experienced British executive producer (founder of KMF), but will be expected - soon after taking up the post – to exert her or his own vision on the weekly content. He or she will supervise a KMF Cambodian production team and presenters to create ideas, select and shape items, write introductions, formulate questions for interviews, brief & supervise directors and video editors about the format, style and pace of the episodes.
Though the show’s language is Khmer, the show will be planned in English. As KMF’s entire production team speak English, fluency in or even a basic knowledge of Khmer (though desirable) is not essential.
Applications & CVs asap
1)at least three years producing magazine, current affair or feature shows
2)demonstrable experience in diplomatically leading presenters and production teams
3)a high proficiency in spoken and – equally important – written English.
4)detailed knowledge of environmental matters, though useful, is not essential

KMF is working to a very tight budget on this project. The salary is therefore commensurate with local rates for ex-pats. However, a comfortable modernised air-conditioned apartment (very close to KMF’s offices) will be provided within the package, together with one airfare, visa and immunisation costs.
After receiving CVs, we will send copies of the programme’s format outline to candidates we wish to interview via Skype or phone.
