Grain Media is an Emmy winning and Oscar and Bafta nominated TV and film production company. From humble beginnings, Grain has grown organically over the last 10 years into a multi-award winning (in the last 2 years we’ve won over 70 international film awards) and highly respected film production company. www.grainmedia.co.uk. The company is entirely owned by two filmmakers.
Grain’s output is incredibly diverse. Our time is split between documentary, factual television, scripted and brand focused commercial work. Our clients range includes very well known brands, TV channels, agencies and PR companies as well as smaller organisations.
More recently our work has expanded to include documentary and scripted feature films. Our early forays have met with significant success. We have been nominated for an Academy Award and a Bafta for our hugely successful movie VIRUNGA which was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and released globally as a Netflix Original production – www.virungamovie.com. We also have recently launched an award winning superhero rom-com called SUPERBOB which has received glowing 4 star reviews in everything from Empire Magazine to The Times – www.superbob.co.uk. We produced Coca Cola’s first feature film WE RIDE; THE STORY OF SNOWBOARDING
We have a number of exciting new feature films on our slate, are working on several TV series and have some very big brand related projects currently in production.
As a company we have huge potential. Our work is amongst the best in the world. We have very big ambitions about where Grain could go over the coming years and the founders have made the strategic decision that we need a CEO to help us realise this vision. The overall objective for the CEO is to add significant value within a reasonable timeframe and allow the founders to operate more as Creative Directors, concentrating on development and / or long term creative projects.
Candidates should have strong managerial capabilities and be able to drive the company forward with a vision. The initial task within the first 3 months will be to deliver a business plan which will provide the milestones to judge success and progress of the CEO appointment. The business plan will have financial, organisational, investment and strategic milestones.
Ideally the candidate should be well connected, and be from within the film / TV / advertising industries, however, we would consider people from outside these sectors if they have appropriate skills. The candidate must have a proven track record and be financially savvy as he/she will be expected to present the company / business plan to potential investors.
Compensation will be negotiable and will be weighted towards results. Basic salary will start from £80,000 pa. A stock option scheme will be offered as part of the compensation package.
