Key role shaping Screen Australia’s Development and Production strategy
Screen Australia is the key Federal Government direct funding body for the Australian screen production industry. Its functions are to support and promote the development of a highly creative, innovative and commercially sustainable Australian screen production industry.
An exciting opportunity now exists to join us as our Head of Production. In this newly created position, you will provide strategic leadership as well as creative and operational direction for Screen Australia’s content creation including feature films, television drama and documentaries. Leading a team of unit managers, you will have overall responsibility for development and investment decisions, and oversee projects from development and/or production investment through to delivery on a range of channels and platforms.
The successful candidate will be a leading figure from the world of film and screen content with considerable managerial and production experience across a domestic and/or international landscape. You will have extensive experience in relevant senior executive roles in development and production across a diverse range of creative platforms with tangible, high quality outcomes that demonstrate high levels of creative and commercial skills and knowledge. You will also possess an avid interest in Indigenous storytelling for the screen, and up-to-date knowledge of the Australian and international marketplace, and evolving financing and distribution models.
This is a key creative, senior leadership role. Exceptional people management skills as well as leadership experience, with proven ability to inspire, engage and motivate a team are essential.
