Senior Tutor in Comedy
100 Days Per Year – Equivalent to two days per week on average
The National Film and Television School is one of the most respected film, television and new media schools in the world. The School delivers more specialist production and post-production courses than any other film school in the world. In many cases these are unique at MA level, such as Television Entertainment and Entrepreneurial Producing.
In partnership with Channel 4, the School is launching a new Diploma in Writing and Producing Comedy. This new 18 month part-time (one evening a week and occasional Saturdays) course will enable students to develop all forms of scripted comedy including, sketch shows, sitcoms and comedy dramas. Students will graduate with a portfolio of material developed during the course, including a ten-minute taster tape of an idea they have developed, a full script and a production bible/treatment.
Applications are invited for the position of Senior Tutor in Comedy within the award winning Television Entertainment department at the NFTS. Applicants must demonstrate they have writing and/or producing credits and have a thorough understanding of scripted comedy development and production. Applicants need to be exceptional communicators possessing excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for student learning.
